Film Festival in Tirana
International Student Film Festival in Tirana (ISFFT) is a joint initiative of Element Studios and the University of Arts, created to position Tirana on the international map of student film festivals and to set a new standard of cooperation between film universities and the audiovisual industry.
ISFFT aims to build a sustainable ecosystem of creativity, where students come into direct contact with professionals in the field, educators and cultural institutions. By treating film as a universal artistic language and as a means of intercultural communication, the festival opens a dynamic space where ideas are developed, talent is cultivated and professional connections are consolidated.
Through this unique collaboration between academic education and professional practice, Tirana aims to become a reference point for young filmmakers in the Western Balkans and Europe.
MISSION
The mission of ISFFT is to build a contemporary platform where university education, film practice and cultural dialogue naturally intertwine, placing the student at the center of the creative process. The festival aims to strengthen academic formation through concrete professional experiences, to foster cooperation between universities in the region and Europe, and to create bridges of communication between young filmmakers and the audiovisual industry.
Essentially, ISFFT treats film as a shared cultural territory, where diversity, innovation and collaboration contribute to artistic development and to the positioning of Tirana as a center of film dialogue in the Western Balkans.

The vision of ISFFT is to naturally expand beyond the region, consolidating sustainable academic and artistic collaborations with European partners as well. These relationships, already initiated, aim to create a broad international platform where film education, professional networking and cultural dialogue work in harmony.

ORGANIZERS
Element Studios is the creative and production partner of the festival, with many years of experience in feature films, documentaries and cultural projects. The studio brings industry expertise to the conceptual, artistic and organizational development of the festival, contributing to shaping the identity of ISFFT.
The Faculty of Performing Arts, part of the University of Arts, is one of the leading institutions of academic training in the performing and audiovisual arts in Albania. With a consolidated tradition in acting, directing, film and related disciplines, the Faculty contributes to building bridges between university education and professional practice.
The University of Arts is the only public institution of higher education in Albania with a completely artistic character. As a center for the professional training of new generations in the visual, performing and film arts, the University supports the festival in creating bridges between academic education and the creative industry.
Festival Team
Dr. Elis Mataj
Festival Director
Director and lecturer with extensive experience in theater, film and academic training. Dr. Mataj holds leadership positions in art institutions and has been engaged in advisory and orientation roles in other important film festivals in Albania. At ISFFT Dr. Mataj leads the artistic and conceptual line of the festival.
Regis Canameri
Producer
Producer and administrator of Element Studios, with extensive experience in short films, documentaries and audiovisual projects presented at festivals in Albania and abroad. As a Film Directing lecturer, he combines practical expertise with an academic approach and leads the key organizational and production processes of the festival.
Enxhi Arapi
Project Manager
Feature and documentary film director, with experience in cultural project management, international coordination and audiovisual production. She has directed several films presented at festivals, as well as projects supported by cultural institutions and international organizations. At ISFFT she coordinates the organizational structure, partnerships and operational flow of the festival.
Benart Laze
Program Coordinator
Director, screenwriter and producer with over 15 years of experience in feature films and short films. Winner of several international awards, including recognition at TIFF and other European festivals. Lecturer at the University of Arts, with experience in developing workshops and professional masterclasses for film students.
Enela Mastori
Coordinator
Administrator of the Faculty of Performing Arts with a long career in academic management and in supporting artistic activities. Winner of the national award "Idromeno 2013" and with in-depth training in visual arts, she contributes to the management and structuring of the festival's logistical and artistic collaborations.
